1. Celebrate Boxers!
Crown beach will be overtaken by dog lovers, hosted by the West Coast Boxer Rescue.
WHAT: West Coast Boxer Rescue Boxer Bash 2016!

WHO: All dog lovers are invited! Friendly dogs (of all breeds) are welcome.
HOW MUCH: Donation of $20 per adult is very much appreciated at the time of reserving a ticket, but you can select a free ticket option and donate at the event also. Kids under 10 and dogs eat free. All proceeds benefit dogs in need!

2. Music Off the Grid
Come join John Rybak for a fun afternoon of music @ Off The Grid Alameda. He’ll be playing the usual acoustic roots ‘n’ blues favorites with some new surprises mixed in.

3. Urban Paradise at Rockwall
Herbs and Spices Catering is one of many who will be bringing their flavors to Urban Paradise at Rockwall. Event is 21+.

Take a tour of the cellar, get silly in the Rock Wall photo booth, commemorate the day with a henna tattoo, play some lawn games and take home a beautiful Rock Wall wine glass!
4. East End Arts & Crafts
The Alameda Museum Lecture Series for August features local author and historian Woody Minor.

What: Historical talk on East End Craftsman homes
When: Thurs Aug 25th, 7-9pm
The lecture will focus on Craftsman houses as they developed in the East End, from the bungalows of Robert C. Hillen to residences by Delanoy & Randlett, including designs by architects like A.W. Smith and T.D. Newsom. The talk will also delve into the area’s history, from Indian mounds and Gold Rush cottages to vanished Victorian mansions. Admission is $10 at the door, free for Museum members. Sponsor: Jim Smallman, Alameda Preservationist.
5. Try out Shirasoni
Check out the new Teppangaki restaurant in Alameda Landing. They just had their opening, and there are mixed reviews on yelp. But give it a try and let us know if we should go and report back. Tuesdays kids eat free. This sushi does look amazing!
